Meliponas - Tropical Stingless Bees
Thu, 17 November 2016, 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM EST
Honey bees are not the only ones around. Across the world there are thousands of species of both solitary and social bees.
Come learn about Meliponas, a family of beautiful stingless bees found in the tropics. These bees produce small quantities of wonderful honey used medicinally in Nicaragua. Come learn more about these bees, the trips we organise there and the partners we work with in Nicaragua.
(We will also have a short discussion on africanised bees and how they are kept in Nicaragua)
