Event Details

Persons who attend our sessions can expect to:

• Gain more control over their responses when anger arises.
• Understand origins & effects of abuse and what can be done about them.
• Hear what has worked for others in similar situations.
• Reduce anxiety, increase connections with others and gain compassion.
• Develop a clear plan to deal with difficult situations when they arise

Our groups offer you the chance of learning alongside others who, like you, care enough to change what they do with their anger. The participants expand their understanding of themselves and gain depth in their understanding of relationships from exploring their own and others’ experiences in relation to the ideas we present. People often find that others have similar experiences, or gain insights into how other people’s experiences might be when they are different. The group also provides a very supportive environment where people are treated with respect and understanding that facilitates the transformation of anger into something constructive.

The Full Price of the 6 week course is $400 plus GST (including the $100 deposit)

Healing Anger & Moose Anger Management

Alistair Moes has been working professionally as a counsellor/educator since 1989 and as an anger management specialist in private practice since 1995. During this time Alistair has developed a manner of working with men and women, which is respectful, solution-focused and based on both academic theory and extensive experience. This experience includes working with trauma, and historic abuse in a manner that honours each person and allows for deep healing, and looking at the practical “anger management” work that some prefer. During the last twenty-three years, he has worked with thousands of people who have made the phone call out of a desire to create change. Although he has facilitated court-ordered men, he now works exclusively with self-referred clients, which includes those sent from the workplace, or strongly encouraged by a partner, or even unfortunately sometimes, a lawyer.

Alejandra Proaño, MSc, MA (Psych), MA (Lit) facilitates the women’s groups at Healing Anger, which start approximately every 7 weeks; does individual and couples counselling, and works as a relational coach for people at organizations, through the Collaborative Coaching Centre. Her work focuses on creating more satisfactory relationships, and to transform anger, and other difficult emotions, into personal growth and intimacy. Through conversations with Alejandra, clients gain new perspectives and engage in a tailor-made process of change that focuses on their own resources and strengths. Having lived in 4 different countries, Alejandra´s clients appreciate her ability to work with cultural awareness and transitions. With more than 19 years of experience as a psychotherapist, Alejandra also holds a certificate in professional coaching by the International Coach Federation (ICF).
