Topic

Mental Health and Spirituality

The language we use to understand distress is profoundly important. Language not only forms our understanding of people, but also how we approach suffering, challenges, and even hope for change or healing. Most often it is our experience that informs our understanding of others. Sometimes this understanding is based on popular terminology, psychological diagnosis, and also the spiritual. With this in mind, it is important to shape an informed understanding of mental health that is sensitive to the spiritual so that we might better serve those in distress.
