Description

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is the help provided to a person developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Just as physical first aid is administered to an injured person before medical treatment can be obtained, MHFA is given until appropriate treatment is found or until the crisis is resolved.

The MHFA for Adults Who Interact with Youth adaptation adds a focus on mental health problems and first aid for youth ages 12 to 24. The majority of mental health problems develop during adolescence or early adulthood.

Crisis intervention training provided for:

Your instructor is Cameron Keller, President of Kaleidoscope Training and Consulting Inc. In his former role of Vice President with the Mental Health Commission of Canada, he grew this program to over 100,000 first aiders in Canada. His creative and enthusiastic delivery of this course draws on his many years of experience as a mental health professional and national executive. Cameron is a clinician, executive coach and mental health and wellness consultant.

Date and Location Details:
The course will be delivered in South Langley on September 19 & 20, 2019. Each day begins at 8:30am and ends at 4:00pm.

The training facility is located on quiet acreage property in a barn that has been converted to a corporate meeting space. Free parking, coffee, tea and cold drinks are included. This facility is not accessible. (a flight of stairs must be climbed to access training centre)

Cost of this course is $295 (plus GST) and includes all program materials (manual and certificate).

A 20% discount is offered for groups of five or more
A 20% discount is offered to post-secondary students enrolled in a program in health and human services
