Description

If someone close to you or one of your patients had a mental health crisis, would you know what to do? One in three Canadians will experience a mental health concern at some point in their life. Early detection and treatment leads to better outcomes.

Get your Mental Health First Aid Certification! The Mental Health First Aid course is an evidence-based program that will give youthe knowledge and skills to respond effectively to someone showing signs of mental health conditions or experiencing a mental health crisis. Just as physical first aid is given to an injured person until they can get medical treatment, Mental Health First Aid is given until appropriate treatment can be obtained or until the crisis is resolved. It may even enable you to save a life.

The MHFA course is being offered at an extremely reduced cost to Bloomberg Nursing students ($60 as opposed to $200 per participant) which covers the cost of participant manuals and a light refreshments. The course is highly interactive, and includes group discussions and activities.

Zahra Ismail, certified MHFA Instructor and Bloomberg Alum, is once again teaching this course for free and tailoring the material to reflect our experiences as Bloomberg nursing students.

NOTE: It is a two day commitment for this course and we DO NOT issue refunds. If you are unable to attend due to extenuating circumstances, you are responsible for reselling the ticket to someone else in advance.

You must attend both days below in order to receive your Mental Health First Aid certificate!

Saturday, November 25th, 2017 from 9 AM - 4:00 PM in the Nursing Lounge
