ABOUT THIS COURSE
MHFA Standard is intended for adults interacting with adults (18 years and older). This course focuses on the four most common mental health disorders including substance related, mood related, anxiety and trauma related, and psychotic disorders. Participants who take this course are well prepared to interact confidently about mental health with their family, friends, communities, and workplaces.
Crisis first aid skills learned:
• Substance overdose
• Suicidal behaviour
• Panic attack
• Acute stress reaction
• Psychotic episode

• Physical distancing and masks are required for in-person courses.
• Seats are limited for in-person & sponsored courses; please register early!
• Participants will be asked to complete a COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire for in-person courses.
• Seats cannot be reserved without completed registration.
• Certificates will only be issued to participants who complete all course hours and required work.
• CMHA-NL reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any course. Notice will be given to those registered.
