Mental Health First Aid Canada (MHFA) teaches participants first aid skills to help someone who is developing mental health problems or is experiencing a mental health crisis. Everyone can benefit from MHFA Canada training – members of the general public, teachers, health services providers, students (18+), emergency workers, frontline workers who deal with the public, volunteers, human resource professionals, employers, and community groups.
MHFA training will teach the participants to:
•Recognize the symptoms of mental health problems
•Provide initial help •Guide a person toward appropriate professional help
•Provide help to prevent the mental health problem from becoming more serious
•Increase confidence in providing help to others
•Reduce stigma towards those experiencing mental health problems.
The course will run from September 30th to October 21st every Friday from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. After completing the MHFA Canada course, participants will receive a Mental Health First Aid Canada Certification. Participants must attend all 12 hours of the course to receive their certification.
