Mental Health First Aid

 May 9 and 10th, 2017

Mental Health First Aid is the first response intervention provided to someone who is living with a mental health disorder or experiencing a mental health crisis.

During this 12 hour training, participants will receive information in the following areas:

Substance Related Disorder                          Crisis first Aid for Overdose

Mood Disorder                                              Crisis first aid for Suicide

Anxiety Disorder                                           Crisis first aid for Panic Attacks

Psychotic Disorders                                       Crisis first aid for Psychotic episode


This valuable training aims to improve mental health awareness and empowers participants to:

Recognize the signs and symptoms of various mental health disorders

Preserve life where a person may be a danger to themselves or others

Provide help to prevent more serious problems from developing

Promote the recovery of good mental health

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

There is plenty of parking available north of the building. Additionally there is parking across the street from the building.   


Do I have to attend both days to get certified? 

Attendees must complete the full course to be certified. Due to the nature of the training and the importance of safeguarding group dynamics, participants that arrive late or miss a significant amount of material may be asked to leave at the facilitators' discretion. 


Is lunch provided? 

Lunch is not provided in this training. However, participants will be given an hour lunch to take advantage of the surrounding restaurants in the area. Coffee/Tea/Water and light snacks will be provided. 


What is your refund policy?

Paid participants will have up to 1 week prior to the event to receive a full refund. No refunds will be issued after May 2, 2017.
