Event description

Description

What do the martial arts, mental health, and our personal stories have to do with each other? This workshop is born out of a growing connection between Alongside You and North Delta Aikikai and a desire to help the community find ways to manage their own mental health, and create mental wealth. Both Andrew and Kim have their own stories with mental health, and what has helped them on their journey.

Kim Riddick is the chief instructor of North Delta Aikikai - Aikido Club. He has been practicing aikido for over 30 years and is ranked 4th degree blackbelt. In 2006, he moved to Tokyo to practice at the Aikido World Headquarters for 3 years. What he wants to share with people is his understanding of connection in partnered body movement and how to live with a sense of peace within yourself and your own community.

Andrew Neufeld is the Executive Director of Alongside You, an integrated health clinic headquartered in South Delta, with locations in Vancouver and South Surrey. He is a classically trained pianist and multi-instrument musician, as well as a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Executive Coach. His passion is to help others embrace who they are and what makes them unique, and use this to create resilience in daily life.

Come share in their stories and what has helped them, and join in on an introductory class on Aikido.

Please wear comfortable clothes - sweats, shorts, yoga pants, tshirts, whatever you're comfortable in and can move easily!
