Mentoring for Refugee and Newcomer Youth – Lunch and Learn

Join us for a workshop on engaging refugee and newcomer youth in your mentoring programs.

Alex Abboud, a consultant working for the Alberta Mentoring Partnership, will present on the new resource, "Mentoring Refugee, Immigrant, and Newcomer Children and Youth." The resource was developed through broad consultation, focus groups, and research, which took a look at best practices from leading organizations in Alberta, Canada, and internationally. Learn about how you can better serve refugee and newcomer youth through your mentoring programs.

The presentation will include:

  1. - Best practices from across Alberta and Canada.
  2. - Common challenges and how to overcome them.
  3. - A look at successful programs, such as Homework Clubs and Conversation Clubs.
