Description

Presenter: Camille Krahn

Research shows how the language we use, the actions we take and the environments we create can have a powerful impact on students mindsets. Celebrating process, talking about and understanding the brain, accepting and appreciating mistakes as learning opportunities, and understanding the role of emotions in learning are practices we can all begin today. This session offers strategies based on the brain research collected from the "Learning and the Brain" as well as practical examples from my grade 4 and 5 classroom experience that foster growth mindsets and resilience in learning for all students.

Topics include: 1. Learning vs. Performing Zone 2. Fostering growth mindset and resilience 3. Self-regulation 4. Supporting diversification 5. Cultivating curiosity
