Event description
Learn how to cut, bend, and grind metal.

About this event

Get acquainted with the MakerLabs metalshop. This orientation covers the drill press, hydraulic bandsaw, brake press, angle grinder, bench grinders, shear, universal bender, and the basic safety requirements necessary for working in the shop. This safety and basic-use course is geared towards those who want to get familiar with the cutting and shaping tools most commonly needed when working with metal, and it is a perfect companion to our MIG Welding 101 orientation.

Students will learn basic tool operation and safety, but will not complete a project during this class.
