Metro Vancouver HomeShare Information Session
Event Information
About this event
Canada HomeShare is excited to bring our facilitated model of shared housing to Metro Vancouver!
We are looking for older adults who would like to share their home with a student for the coming school year and post secondary students who would like to share the home of an older adult. Students pay between $400-$600 in monthly rent and contribute up to seven hours per week of assistance around the home and/or companionship.
The goal of Canada HomeShare is to foster intergenerational relationships, support aging in place for older adults while simultaneously addressing the affordable rental crisis faced by students.
Canada HomeShare Social Workers create matches that meet both the needs of the home provider and student using a framework designed and developed by the National Initiative for the Care of the Elderly. Our Social Workers support the matches every step of the way. Canada HomeShare aims to create a nation wide supportive network to prevent and address social isolation no matter what age.
Metro Vancouver HomeShare will be hosting online information sessions in the coming weeks to answer your questions about the program. Join us for a short presentation and a question and answer period with the Canada HomeShare team.
Whether you know an older adult or student who may be interested in participating or if you would like to find out more information for yourself we would be happy to get to know you! To find out more about Canada HomeShare please visit www.canadahomeshare.com
