Description

Wound Prevention (3 hours)

This course will cover the role of role of frontline staff in preventing pressure ulcers and maintaining the skin health of clients. Topics will include:

  • Risk factors for skin tears and pressure ulcers

  • Signs, symptoms and causes of pressure ulcers

  • Wound prevention methods

  • Identification of potential areas where pressure ulcers can develop

  • Identification of clients who are at a higher risk for skin breakdown

  • Hands on practice of repositioning skills

Please be advised that we need atleast 5 participants in order to successfully conduct the session.

Please note:
Participants are expected to arrive on time for sessions in which they have registered. Participants who do not arrive within the fifteen (15) minute grace period, will not be permitted to attend the training. The door of the training room will be closed, and late participants will be asked to sign up for the next session which fits their schedule.
