The Mayor's Innovation Challenge is a competition calling on teams of students from Kingston's major post-secondary institutions to develop innovative proposals to address an identified challenge faced by the City of Kingston.
The Mayor's Innovation Challenge provides a unique opportunity for you, as a current student or recent graduate, to apply your knowledge to real-world issues and help shape the future of Kingston! The winning team members gain an opportunity to launch their careers with a paid internship while working alongside municipal and academic leaders.

• Demonstrating Leadership on Climate Action
• Enhancing Food Security and Sustainability
• Removing Barriers and Improving Accessibility
Thinking about participating in this year’s Mayors Innovation Challenge? Have a great idea, but want an opportunity to get valuable feedback from expert staff? Attend a free MIC consultation! This 15 minute session will provide your team with an opportunity to talk about your idea with experts in the challenge topic fields and help you craft a strong proposal.
Please note that at least one member of every participating team is required to attend at least one consultation or workshop.
Only one ticket is required per team!
