Duration: 1 day (9 am - 4 pm ET)

Microsoft Project Desktop Versions: 2013 | 2016 | 2019 | 365 (Windows)

Delivery Methods (Instructor-led): Live classroom (LC) or Virtual Classroom (VC)

Course Fee: $275 CAD per person + HST (Virtual classroom), $295 CAD per person + HST (Bring your own device for live classroom courses) or $345 CAD per person + HST (Avantix Learning provides device for live classroom courses)

Virtual Classroom: Virtual classroom courses are led by a live instructor and run from 9 am to 4 pm (Eastern Time) with a 15 minute break in the morning and in the afternoon and a 1 hour break for lunch.

In-person (Live Classroom) Course Location: Our live classroom courses are offered in downtown Toronto at the Toronto Eaton Centre or at the Toronto Star Building (some Avantix Learning courses may be held at an alternate downtown Toronto location). Location will be confirmed when you register.

This hands-on course is designed for those who want to learn how to set up and manage projects using Microsoft Project. Students will enter tasks and durations and then create an outline with summary, detail and milestone tasks. Tasks will be linked and students will review strategies to change the types of dependencies between linked tasks. Hard constraints and deadlines will also be applied. Students will create a resource pool with different types of resources and assign resources to tasks. Techniques to deal with overallocated resources will be reviewed and various reports will be generated . During this course, students will also create custom reports, tables and filters. At the end of the course, a baseline will be set and progress will be tracked with students entering actual start dates, actual finish dates and actual durations. During this course, the instructor will include numerous tips, tricks and shortcuts. Each student will also receive a full course manual.

This course has been designed for beginners who are just getting started with Access. No prior experience with Microsoft Project is required.
