OVERVIEW

Mind-Body Training for Teachers (MBTT)’s Professional Development Day Workshops provide an embodied research-based learning approach to strategies that may be implemented into the classroom to increase awareness, engagement, compassion, and motor skills for improved efficiency and consciousness to the classroom experience.

The Workshops provide the Teacher with the skill set and opportunity to increase the space between our stimulus and reactionary neurons so we have the ability to respond rather than react to feelings that come up in the body, therefore impacting every aspect of our learning and development. Our MBTT™ strategies are shown to be effective for both the Teacher and Student and is a significant component to healthy brain development.

This workshop contains two parts, to be taken seperately or as a full-day workshop:

1. Compassionate Communication in the Classroom (AM): Teachers will learn to understand the risks of individualistic-oriented relationships; identify the factors that contribute to conflict and stress-based communication; learn how to practice controlled response and non-reactivity interaction; learn how to experience our true state of joy through connection.

2. MIMO™ Moving Meditation Curriculum Training (PM): Teachers will gain an understanding and basic skill set of our Grow Your Roots in-Class Student Programming on Moving Meditation week two, BALANCE. We discuss key topics surrounding Social Emotional Learning and provide a basic practice to implement in the classroom to support Emotional Intelligence. The Workshop uses theory, demonstration, and practice to train our cognitive and emotional domain in our brain and control our thinking and feeling. Our Week Two: BALANCE student in-class practice is taught to attendees of the workshop.

Attendees have e-mail access to the Founders for one week post workshop for questions.
