4-Week Virtual Mindfulness Skills Program - Free

About this Event

Join the free, 4-week virtual mindfulness skills program offered by Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care in partnership with Georgian College and Mindfulness Without Borders.

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, research has shown a decline in mental health across the country. This is particularly true for healthcare workers who are on the front lines of caring for patients and sometimes a drastic change in the way they work.

Mindfulness is a practice that involves focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while acknowledging and accepting feelings, thoughts and bodily sensations without judgment. With this quality of attention, one learns to be more grounded in the present as well as more connected to what is happening in the moment, just as it is.

These classes also have a component to study the effectiveness of the program. Participants will be invited to participate in the study.

Classes are offered via Zoom, once a week for 4 weeks on March 1, 8, 15 & 22 from 7 to 7:30 p.m.

The Zoom link is the same for all weekly March classes. Join here: https://waypointcentre-ca.zoom.us/j/5683851644
