Event description

In today’s busy world, we often equate mindfulness meditation with our phone apps, or relaxation exercises before bed. However, cultivating mindfulness has been practiced by Buddhist practitioners for thousands of years with a deep lineage, which can be traced back to the time of the Buddha.

Durham College is honored to welcome, Gen Kelsang Suma, a Resident Teacher and Buddhist nun of Jampa Ling Kadampa Buddhist Centre in Barrie, Ontario. Speaking from the Buddhist perspective, Gen Kelsang Suma will provide an introduction to the teachings and practices of mindfulness and its relevance for times of personal change and transitions.

Please note this event is only open to Durham College Students, a valid Student ID card must be shown.
