Event description

Description

As part of our four-pillared cognitive rehabilitation program, the Watson Centre Society for Brain Health is now offering free community programs to support and educate brain injury survivors along their journey through recovery.

Build the foundations of your mindfulness practice to create balance throughout your brain injury recovery in an approachable community setting.

New to meditation? Don't know if it will be useful for you? Most anyone can benefit from practicing calming the mind, centering our focus, and opening our awareness. And yes, even your busy, distractable mind can find a point of calm. There are many benefits for cognitive recovery after brain injury, including improving your ability to focus, reducing reactivity from sensory stimulation, reducing stress response, increase self-awareness, improve sleep... and SO much more!

Join us to learn about the benefits and the practical applications of meditation & mindfulness for your cognitive recovery and overall wellbeing.

What you need to bring:

  • A yoga mat and/or cushion if you prefer to sit on the floor, chairs are provided

  • An open mind!

This class is suitable for independent brain injury survivors.
