Mindfulness for Parents and Caregivers

About this Event

Mindfulness for Parents & Caregivers is a 6-week program teaching mindfulness skills for all levels of experience. All are welcome - whether your family member with a disability is young or old. We will learn new Mindfulness techniques each week and practice them together as a group. There will be some optional discussion during the sessions. Participants will receive a workbook and links to guided meditations for daily home practice. Daily meditation practice is encouraged.

The techniques that are taught in this program are the modified curriculum that is used in the CAMH Azrieli Centre mindfulness research groups for caregivers. The research has shown that with regular practice participants experience lowered levels of depression.This is a Mindfulness Mediation program being held on Zoom. The group will learn new mindfulness techniques each week. Participants have home practice links to do daily meditation.

Please note this is not therapy. This is a program to teach skills to cope with stress, and is an excellent companion to therapy.
