Mine Water Management: Instrumentation & Automation Innovation
Date and time
Location
Online event
Learn about the latest innovations for instrumentation and automation solutions for water management in mining.
About this event
Representatives from three different pioneering companies will present their instrumentation and/or automation solutions and their applications to mine water management. Hear about the latest field water quality sensors, amphibious robots, and remote control flow measurements. Presenters will show how their product brings innovation within their respective domain, and how it addresses ongoing and future challenges of water management.
After the presentations, the floor will be open for questions either for all or for a specific supplier. The goal of the webinar series is to engage industry and promote the discussion of new ideas within mine water management.
Presenters include Brooks Magnowski, Craig Milne, and Frank van der Have:
Brooks Magnowski of FREDsense Technologies will present a custom sensor platform, including field-ready sensors for arsenic speciation and acidity. FREDsense provides easy-to-use, field-based sensors for industrial and environmental monitoring challenges related to stormwater monitoring, mine management, and site remediation.
Craig Milne of Copperstone Technologies will present on their amphibious robot, HELIX. HELIX was developed for environmental monitoring, inspired by space robotics and advanced remote sensing. HELIX is used for site investigation services, which may include measuring geotechnical parameters of mine waste tailings ponds, collecting samples, and conducting bathymetric surveys.
Frank van der Have of Hoskin Scientific will present on their combined ADCP and remote controlled unit. For over 70 years, Hoskin Scientific has provided expert support on a wide range of instrumentation, monitoring and sampling, and materials testing requirements.
