Edmonton Metropolitan Chorus invites you to a vibrant choral concert that blends sacred expression with folk tradition — a celebration of Latin American landscapes, languages, and voices.
Misa Criolla… voices from the Andes features Ariel Ramírez’s groundbreaking masterpiece alongside traditional and contemporary selections rooted in Argentina, Venezuela, Peru, and Bolivia. The program highlights Indigenous instruments, joyful rhythms, and evocative melodies that bring to life the diversity and beauty of South American musical culture.
Ensemble instrumentation includes:
- Creole guitars, charango, cuatro
- Double bass, piano
- Indigenous percussion: snare, tenor drums, toms, gong, shakers, and more
This concert will be performed without intermission and runs approximately 1 hour.
