MISSION:shiftYYC - USE YOUR MIND TO CHANGE YOUR BRAIN
Thu, 27 April 2017, 12:10 PM – 12:50 PM MDT
USE YOUR MIND TO CHANGE YOUR BRAIN
“What flows through your mind sculpts your brain. Thus, you can use your mind to change your brain for the better – which will benefit your whole being, and every other person whose life you touch. By changing your brain, you can change your life.”
~ Rick Hanson, Author of the Buddha’s Brain.
In this workshop, you will learn to connect the dots between your brain’s wiring, the latest neuroscience and mindfulness as a way to create change that will transform your life. Mental activity sculpts the brain and it’s no joke that we are creating our realities in every moment with every thought. Through mindfulness, you can begin to release the grip of old patterns of response and form new pathways of positive habits and behaviours.
Come and engage your whole brain – that’s right, both your left and your right brain, in a mindful workout. Here’s what you can expect:
- Learn the mindfulness technique of self-observation
- Gain an understanding of the brain’s negativity bias & how to work with it
- Learn the keys to positive neuroplasticity and the brain’s ability to re-wire itself
- Become witness to your own "fight or flight" patterns of modern life and navigate back to wholeness
- Learn the ancient science of the head, heart and gut brains
Join me for some brain changing, life changing fun!
This event will be presented by our own ThoughtLeader Kelly Lynch

About the Speaker
Kelly is a certified leadership coach and facilitator. Kelly’s leadership roles inside some of the world’s largest organizations inspired her to build a professional coaching and leadership development practice that helps individuals identify, integrate and actualize their natural strengths as leaders. Kelly leverages the brain’s neuroplasticity with the art of mindfulness as a doorway to re-wiring for greater success, well-being and creativity. Kelly enhances individual and team performance and productivity through the lens of nature, neuroscience and mindfulness.
One of Kelly’s passions is deeply rooted in a creative leadership exploration that examines the brain in nature – this includes designing and leading experiential, nature-based programs and retreats in Canada and the United States.
Kelly is also a volunteer coach with the United Nations Development Program.
