Event description

Description

Come join our Certified Physical Rehabilitation Practitioner, Christina, to learn more about how the physical rehabilitation department has evolved, and how she’s been adapting human techniques to our shelter animals to enhance recovery, manage pain, maintain functional movement, and improve quality of life.

In human medicine, physical therapy is common in the treatment of many acute and chronic musculoskeletal and neurologic conditions and, here at the Toronto Humane Society, we believe that animals deserve the same quality of care. Whether it is a geriatric dog with advanced osteoarthritis, an obese cat, a puppy with a fractured pelvis, or a rabbit with mobility issues -- these patients all deserve the best chance possible to achieve optimal function and overall wellness while they wait for adoption day.
