Mobilizing Women’s Rights in Bangladesh: Lunch & Learn
Event Information
About this event
Join the Manitoba Council for International Cooperation and special guest David Bruer of Inter Pares, for a discussion about rights-based work in Bangladesh. David will share how they are working with local partner Nijera Kori to bring together landless women and men to learn about and demand their rights.
Through this work, women are supported to take collective action on issues such as violence against women, access to services and participation in governance, resulting in concrete improvements in women’s lives.
Inter Pares - which means 'among equals' - is a member of the Manitoba Council for International Cooperation. Inter Pares believes in solidarity, not charity, as an approach to international cooperation, working throughout the world to build peace, advance justice and globalize equality. Through the generosity of the Manitoba Government Matching Grant Program, MCIC was able to help fund this project in 2019-20.
Please bring your lunch and join us online as we learn more about the important work being done in Bangladesh.
We will be using Zoom to share this event online, and participants will receive a link by email after registering. Need to join by phone instead? Register and you'll receive the phone-in information.
