About this event
The first Christmas card was sent in 1843 in England. By the late 1800s, the tradition of sending holiday cards was well established thanks to new printing processes, affordable postage and growing transportation routes. Emerging card companies held competitions for artists to design cards. As part of this workshop, you will get a close-up look at historic holiday cards from our Archival collection.
🏷 💌 If you have never made cards before or fear paper cuts, we will provide everything you need to get crafty! Experienced crafters can show their skills and enjoy some festive social time where we take care of the mess! 💌 🏷
