Event description
Join us for a cozy night in as we welcome Cody Calligraphy for a VIRTUAL calligraphy workshop

About this Event

In this workshop, we'll start from the very beginning, with tips on how to hold a brush pen and set up your workspace. From there, you'll master the basic strokes of modern calligraphy, the lowercase alphabet, common words, phrases and more!

What does my ticket include?

  • 2 hours of live instruction, taught over Zoom.
  • A print-at-home calligraphy workbook
  • Free access to the live workshop replay to keep practicing at home!

What do I need to bring?

  • Your print-at-home workbook (emailed to you after purchase)
  • A small-tipped brush pen!
  • Or, add a Calligraphy Toolkit to your order and we'll ship it to you! (Must be ordered a minimum of 7 days prior to the event)

Where to Find a Small-Tipped Brush Pen:

Cody's favourites are either the Tombow Fudenosuke (Hard-Tip) OR the Pentel Sign Brush Pen. You can purchase either of these pens at most craft stores (including Michaels, Deserres, and even Staples!) or on Amazon (here's the link).

How to attend:

This is a virtual workshop which will take place on Zoom. Details on how to join are included in the confirmation email. Come as you are 🌈 all are welcome.

About Cody Calligraphy:

Cody McCallum (she/her) is a calligrapher and stationery designer, operating out of her home studio in the St. Clair West neighborhood of Toronto. Calligraphy began for her as a hobby and mindfulness practice, but quickly grew to become her passion, side hustle, and now full-time business. Cody specializes in bringing a personal touch to weddings, events and personal stationery. She also runs public calligraphy workshops and private classes (staff appreciation, mindfulness retreats, birthdays, bachelorette parties and more!)

This workshop is hosted by Toronto's First Post Office (operated by the Town of York Historical Society) as part of our museum's mission to create original and accessible programming, public events and broad-based communication geared to all ages and cultures that will generate excitement in the postal service and letter writing.
