Drive-Thru COVID-19 Vaccination. Age 18+ Moderna Vaccine will be administered. Age 70+ Moderna Second dose will be administered.

About this event

The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville, Stouffville Medical Centre and York Region Public Health have come together to provide you with a Drive-Thru COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic for our community. Drive-Thru vaccination clinics provide a safe and efficient way to receive your vaccination while enjoying the safety and comfort of being in your own vehicle. Register for your COVID-19 vaccine today! If there are currently no options available, please continue to check back as additional tickets are added daily.

NOTE: PLEASE BRING YOUR EVENTBRITE TICKET AND HEALTH CARD TO THE EVENT

NOTE: ALL VACCINATIONS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST BE REGISTERED TO ATTEND, NO WALK-INS, NO BICYCLES or MOTORCYCLES. NO EXCEPTIONS. DUE TO FACILITIES, VEHICLES MUST BE UNDER 7 FEET AND NO EXTENDED RACKS.

We are administering the Moderna Vaccine at this time. We can only offer these vaccines to those who have ALREADY turned 18 years of age.

ASTRAZENECA SECOND DOSE: Individuals who received the AstraZeneca vaccine and wish to receive Moderna for their second dose can register for their second dose if 8-12 weeks (56-84 days) have passed since their first vaccine.

Eligibility for First Doses

Individuals are eligible for their first dose if you are over 18 years of age at the time of vaccination.

Eligibility for EARLY Second Doses (28 days)

Only individuals who are eligible for an early second dose may book 28 days after their first appointment if they meet the following criteria:

  • Solid organ or stem cell transplant recipients
  • Individuals with cancer of the blood, bones or lymph nodes, undergoing active treatment (patients must have a letter from their specialist that confirms timing for the first or second dose).
  • Individuals with malignant solid tumors, undergoing active treatment
  • Individuals undergoing hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis
  • Those with an autoimmune / inflammatory disease taking anti-CD20 agent medication (i.e. rituximab, ocrelizumab, ofatumumab)
  • 70 years of age or older (born in 1951 or earlier)
  • All hospital and acute care staff in frontline roles with COVID-19 patients and/or with a high-risk of exposure to COVID-19
  • All patient-facing health care workers involved in the COVID-19 response
  • Medical first responders (paramedics, ORNGE, firefighters, police and special constables) providing medical first response as part of their duties
  • Community health care workers working with needle exchange programs
  • Indigenous health care service providers or urban Indigenous adults and their adult household members
  • Long term or retirement home health care workers (nurses and personal support workers and one essential caregiver)
  • Individuals working in Community Health Centers serving disproportionately affected communities
  • Critical health care workers in remote and hard to access communities
  • Home and community care health care workers caring for recipients of chronic homecare and seniors in congregate living facilities or providing hands-on care to COVID-19 patients in the community

NEW Additional Eligibility for Second Doses Starting June 14th, 2021 (PROOF OF FIRST VACCINATION IS REQUIRED)

Individuals are also eligible for the second dose if they have:

  • Received an AstraZeneca vaccination 8- 12 weeks prior (56-84 days prior)
  • Received a Moderna or Pfizer vaccination on or before May 9th, 2021

DRIVE-THRU VACCINATION CLINIC TERMS & CONDITIONS

Individuals who have had adverse reactions after vaccinations, particularly from their first COVID-19 vaccine dose, should consult their physician before booking a first or second dose at any clinic.

By registering for a Drive-Thru Immunization Clinic, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

No Adverse Reactions

Individuals who had any of the following adverse reactions should consult their physician before booking a second dose at any clinic.

Individuals who have had any history of fainting or dizziness should not register for this clinic. These individuals are NOT eligible for Drive-Thru clinics, and should discuss their eligibility for vaccination with their healthcare provider. They may be considered for vaccination at a walk-through clinic.

Examples of adverse reactions include, but are not limited to:

  • Fainting or Dizziness
  • Shortness of Breath, Chest Tightness or Wheezing
  • Nausea / Vomiting
  • Swelling of the Lips, Tongue or Throat
  • Other Severe Allergy or Anaphylaxis

Patient Attestation

INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE UNWELL IN ANY WAY SHOULD NOT ATTEND THE DRIVE-THRU CLINIC. Specifically, individuals should NOT attend if they are experiencing any of the following symptoms:

  1. Fever
  2. Cough
  3. Shortness of breath
  4. Sore throat
  5. Runny nose in the absence of seasonal allergies
  6. Difficulty swallowing
  7. New smell or taste disorder(s)
  8. Nausea / vomiting
  9. Diarrhea
  10. Abdominal pain
  11. Unexplained fatigue / malaise
  12. Chills
  13. Headaches that are new, persistent, unusual, unexplained or long lasting
  14. Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye)
  15. Muscle aches and pains
  16. Decreased or lack of appetite
  17. New or unusual exacerbation of chronic condition

If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms on the day of your vaccination DO NOT ATTEND and instead reschedule for a later date.

Monitoring for Adverse Reactions

All individuals attending the event are requested to remain onsite in their vehicle for a minimum of 15 minutes following receipt of their vaccination in order to monitor for adverse reactions. Parking spaces will be made available to accommodate for this waiting period. Participants are asked to keep a window rolled down during this time and doors unlocked. Please honk your horn should any adverse reactions arise, at which point a nurse, physician or other health care professional will be available for assessment.

Booking Considerations

COVID-19 vaccinations will be offered in the priority sequence as outlined by York Region Public Health.

For clinic flow and safety of our staff in accessing individuals in a vehicle, we ask that you try to keep to a maximum of 4 individuals per car.
