Join us for an evening of citizen science as we count monarch butterflies, eggs and caterpillars on common milkweed in along the trails.

About this event

As part of an international monarch monitoring blitz, we will spend the evening of Tuesday, August 9th counting monarch eggs, caterpillars and butterflies in the patches of common milkweed along the trails near York Arena.

Meet at the York Arena parking lot at 6:30 (891 Barker St., Fredericton) to learn about the amazing monarch life cycle and how to identify the different life stages. Then we will go off in groups to count milkweed stems and monarchs. Our observations will be submitted to Mission Monarch and used by scientists.
