The Moose Hide Campaign works with community towards ending violence against Aboriginal women and children. It promotes gender equity, improved relationships, and holistic masculinities by speaking out against gender-based violence and sharing knowledge, stories and experience of violence in our communities. It further works to change how we view ourselves challenging stigma associated with 2-Spirited, trans* and queer Native people.
The main event supporting The Moose Hide Campaign focuses on AWARENESS. It will open with a traditional prayer and smudging. This will be followed by a sharing of objectives and goals, traditional singing and drumming, guest speakers, sharing circle, community art instillation, and the Moose Hide Pledge. This workshop supports community and engages us in our understanding of how we care for and nurture our families and community.
