Description

WHAT: Annual Canoe Trip
WHERE: Murtle Lake, British Columbia
WHEN: July 25 - 29, 2018
WHO: Adults (18+) with Type 1 diabetes

CIM is so excited to explore Murtle Lake with you! A new location for us, Murtle Lake is special: renowned for being North America’s largest non-motorized lake, its icy blue glacial-fed waters are nestled in a pristine mountain valley in BC’s Wells Gray Provincial Park. With 100kms of shoreline to explore and beautiful beachy campsites, Murtle Lake has everything we want in our first BC Annual Canoe Trip. We’ll also get the opportunity to leave our gear on the shoreline while we take day hikes to explore the alpine – Murtle Lake has many established hiking trails to beautiful mountain vistas. We’ll enjoy an evening at Blue River Campground on the Wednesday night before embarking upon our journey to the lake and beyond on the Thursday morning. We can’t wait!

This will be a chance to share your experiences with other Adults with Type 1 diabetes while exploring the lakes and woods of BC. While immersing ourselves in outdoor activity, we’ll be swapping tips and tricks for living a healthy life with Type 1. As always, the Annual Canoe Trip will cater to a wide range of skill levels and experience but will be very limited in space. We will be accepting 8 participants.

Whether this is your first or fortieth canoe trip, we're excited to paddle with you!
