Event description
A storytelling night celebrating the talented and diverse writers who have taken part in Living Hyphen's writing workshops.

About this event

As we continue to live through this pandemic and do our best to stay safe and sane, our concept of time has been called into question. Time has blurred almost completely with days folding into each other, weeks and months rolling by both slowly and quickly, and years being rendered meaningless. But time as we have come to know it is a colonial construct made to be precisely measured and squeezed for the last drop of productivity.

For many of us who are part of diasporic and/or displaced communities – time has always been more fluid and in flux. What does it mean to move through time as someone who lives in between cultures? What are your and your people's natural rhythms? What make up your rituals or markers of time?

In this night of storytelling, we'll reflect on the enigma that is time and all its complicated meanings.

It's completely free to attend but donations are welcome! Your donations will be used to provide subsidies for future writing workshops for those who are in financial need. We are so grateful for your generosity.
