Event description

Description

MT ASSINIBOINE 2020 (3 night/4 day wilderness photography workshop - camping)

  • Sunday July 19th - Wednesday July 22nd - Mid summer light, wildflowers & dark skies

What to expect

Alpine lakes, wide open views, pristine wilderness, a beautiful trail system, wildflowers, wildlife, and if it’s clear, the opportunity to photograph the night sky punctuated by the giant triangular apex of Mt Assiniboine.

A moderate level of fitness is required. Walking distances of between 6 - 10km per day with elevation gains of approximately 300 metres per day to reach the different areas in the region. You will need to be able to carry your camera gear & any necessities with you over these distances. A small group size limited to 5 participants to keep our impact low and maximize your learning experience through my photography instruction & mentoring.

This is a camping based adventure staying at the Magog Lake campground. Particpants will need to bring a tent, sleeping bag, & sleeping mat along with food for the furation of our stay. Experience is recommended but not essential as we will be assisting you with any camp related tasks as needed. It is a great way to unplug, get off the grid and connect with the outdoors!

I am a licensed guide with current first aid and advanced wilderness first aid certifications & have taken many prior trips into the Mt Assiniboine region. This workshop is suitable for all levels of photography experience as there will be many one on one opportunities throughout our time together. I will be by your side providing all that I know and love about landscape photography.

This is a unique & potentially once in a lifetime experience – You will never forget photographing ‘The Matterhorn of The Rockies’ from the Nublet.

Contact me at nick@mountainphototours.ca to receive the complete PDF outlining the itinerary, what to bring, the terms and conditions of participation, booking & refund policies as well as an update on the trip with regards to COVID-19.

* Prcing includes the short helicopter flight transportation to and from the area from the Mt Shark helipad
