Event description

Description

John Weaver, Ph.D. is a senior conservation scientist for the Wildlife Conservation Society, with field projects based in the western United States and Canada. Over the past 48 years, John has played many key roles in conservation of large wildlife in both countries. Dr. Weaver will recount stories from successful restoration of wolves to Yellowstone and massive expansion of Nahanni National Park.

He will also present his latest scientific report on the Bighorn backcountry. This area is a conservation gem nestled just east of Banff and Jasper National Parks in Alberta and represents one of the most ecologically important areas in the province’s Eastern Slopes region.
