MUN Engineering Society 'A' 18th Annual Charity Ball
Overview
Welcome to the MUN Engineering Society 'A' 18th Annual Charity Ball! Get ready for a night of glitz and glamour at The Bella Vista. Join us for a fun-filled evening to come together and raise funds for two great causes. This event features a fun night with a cocktail hour, live music, a three course meal and a live, silent and dessert auction.
This is a charity fundraising event, in which we strive to raise money and give back to two local charities. The chosen charities this year are the ALS Society of NL and the Iris Kirby House, two very impactful organizations in our community. The goal of this event is to try and connect members of our community especially in the engineering community to give back to charities that make a difference. The money raised makes a big impact to the chosen organizations and will help enhance our community life in the city for those dealing with ALS and domestic violence. 100% of all money donated and money raised in the auctions will go split evenly to these charities.
The ALS Society of Newfoundland and Labrador is a registered charity committed to providing support to ALS clients, their families, and their caregivers, while helping to find the cause of and a cure for ALS. They have worked tirelessly to increase public awareness of the personal and social impacts of this disease, and to raise funding that goes toward patient services and research. For more information please visit their website: https://www.alsnl.ca/
The Iris Kirby House has been operating for over 40 years to provide shelter and a safe haven for women and children experiencing intimate partner violence. They provide 24-hour distress lines for women experiencing physical, psychological, emotional, sexual and/or financial abuse, offering non-judgmental support and housing.
