Description

Registration is now open to delegates for the 2018 MUN World Health Organization (MUN WHO) Simulation Conference! Our conference brings together students from across Newfoundland who share a passion for global affairs and health. We hope that you can join us from March 2nd-4th, at the Memorial University Faculty of Medicine, for an opportunity to discuss global health challenges and play a proactive role in shaping global health policy.

Our conference is open to university students of all disciplines and backgrounds!
Visit our website for more details: munwho.com

The 3-day conference (in the style of a Model UN) will include several influential speakers, exciting debates, discussions, and networking opportunities!

At this simulation, delegates assume the role of either a country’s ambassador to the WHO and work with their peers to develop resolution papers that address the different global health theme chosen each year. Through this, the MUN WHO Conference offers participants the opportunity to step out into the world as a citizen of a global village while discussing health issues in a political, social and economic context.

This year, our conference theme is "Critical and Acute Care". By giving students this unique opportunity to engage in health issues, we hope to facilitate knowledge and spark discussion about an extremely important topic worldwide.

The main goals of this conference are to:

-Raise student awareness about challenges in global health
-Provide a means for students to play a proactive role in developing global health policy
-Acquaint students with the WHO and its role
-Facilitate the development of interprofessional relations between students from multidisciplinary fields and healthcare experts
-Expose students to a deeper understanding of the social determinants of health

Early-bird registration ($10) is open until January 18th. Regular registration ($15) will open following January 18th and will close on February 9th.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at munmodelwho@gmail.com

We hope to see you there!
