About this event
On December 9th, come and hear some of the finest music the season has to offer in the Diapente Renaissance Vocal Quintet's first concert, Munera Offerent: The Christmas Story, Renaissance Style.
Hear a chronological collection of Christmas vocal music (with a little guitar too!) from England, Guatemala, Portugal, Italy and Prague; some of which probably unheard since their creation!

Musical Highlights Include:
Elisabeth Zachariae & Lucia Virgo - Two amazing songs by African-Portuguese composer Vicente Lusitano; performed live for the first time in North America (and possibly Europe since the Renaissance!).
Reges Tharsis - William Byrd's powerful and poignant combination of plainchant and choral counterpoint.
Tleycantimo Choquilia - A rhythmic and rousing work by Gaspar Fernandes in the Central American Náhuatl language.

Diapente, Toronto's latest five-person vocal ensemble brings new life to the music of the 16th and 17th Centuries; delving into the exciting, diverse, rare, and wonderful works of the Renaissance for all to enjoy.
