Event description
This Workshop is offered virtually as part of the Municipal Management Training Program.

About this event

Putting one’s political abilities to use means knowing how to act on an organization’s fundamental principles: power, authority, structures, formal and informal relationships. In this training session, you will learn how to decode influence networks, challenges and power games in order to become an important player in the political world as a municipal manager.

Goals:

  • By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:
  • recognize the players involved: roles, groups, alliances, relationship quality;
  • use the four political power sources to improve your formal and informal influence abilities;
  • differentiate effective strategies and tactics based on situational and personal factors; and
  • contextualize the use of these political abilities in an ethical and respectful setting.
