Description

Road Trip!

Following up on last year’s sold out bus trip to the United Empire Loyalist Centre we are excited to announce a new day trip to the Oshawa Community Museum and Parkwood Estate.

Oshawa Museum (OM)
Join us for a not to be missed “insiders look” behind the scenes at the OM where you will experience exhibits and artifacts not normally available to the general public.

The OM showcases the history of Oshawa from the “earliest First Nation occupation to the end of WWII”. Administered by the Oshawa Historical Society the OM features a variety of exhibits, an archival collection and museum shop in three restored homes circa 1840.

Parkwood National Historic Site
Step back in time with us and experience the home of the late R.S. McLaughlin, Canadian auto baron and founder of General Motors of Canada. Inspired by early 20th century Beaux-Arts design, this 15,000 Sq. Ft., 55-room mansion was built between 1915 and 1917. The art, architecture, gardens, landscaping and original furnishings, all faithfully preserved, have provided the backdrop for many popular movies and TV shows such as Murdoch Mysteries and Anne of Green Gables.

Book early!

One date only; Thursday, September 12th from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Ticket fee includes bus and entry to both sites. A lunch stop will be made at the Pickering Mandarin but lunch is not included in the ticket price.
