Music and the Developing Mind

Training for Early Learning Child Care Professionals

Presented by Dr. Sean Hutchins, Director of Research and Catherine West, Pedagogy Leader from The Royal Conservatory Music is an amazing way to positively interact with young children and has a huge impact on the developing brain.

This interactive and inclusive workshop is appropriate for any level of musical expertise and provides tips on how to expand the use of music in classrooms and programs.

This interactive workshop will discuss:

  • How musical activities can help develop cognitive skills: attention, memory, and cognitive flexibility
  • Interactive activities that educators can use in their own practice with any age group or ability
