Description

The final workshop in our Market Validation Training series, the Business Model Canvas gives you the structure of a business plan without the overhead, and the improvisation of a ‘back of the napkin’ sketch without the fuzziness (and coffee rings). The business model canvas workshop relies heavily on learns from all previous MVT courses and utilizes work done previously.

The business model canvas is a shared language for describing, visualizing, and assessing business models. It describes the rationale of how an organization creates, delivers and captures value. A company uses a business model canvas to quickly visualize an idea or an organization's current and/or future business in order to create a shared understanding and highlight key drivers.

Learn about the business model canvas methodology, how it works, and work through the first iteration of your own business model canvas. By the end of the session, you will be able to form hypotheses about your business model that you can then start to validate by talking to customers.



What is the MVT Series?

The MVT Series or Market Validation Training Series is an educational course offered by Kamloops Innovation as the precursor to our VAP program. This series is Free and open to any individual, company or student who is looking to start their own business.

The series is designed to guide and coach early-stage companies through defining business models for sustained growth. Kamloops Innovation does not take equity stakes in companies, making companies free to grow on their own terms. For those individuals looking to attend specific classes, the Startup Basics Series offers more bite-sized versions of the material taught in the MVT Series through the TRU Generator.

  • Target Markets: Identify your first customers & how to market to them
  • Your Go-To-Market Plan: Develop an action plan to move your business idea forward

  • Business Model Canvas: Visualize your company's value, infrastructure, customers, and finances.
