When developing your business idea, knowing who the buyers in organizations are and “what’s in it for them” is important. A Value Proposition refers to a statement that a company uses to summarize why a consumer should buy a company’s product or use a company’s service. This statement is used to convince a potential consumer that one particular product or service will add more value or better solve a problem than other similar companies will. Companies use this statement to target customers who will benefit most from using the company's products, and this helps maintain an economic moat.


In this introductory session will focus on identifying and understanding the value your business idea brings to the table, how to accurately size a market, and how you can better understand the potential dollar value of your market. By the end of this session, you will know how to size a market and its potential dollar value - an important step for evaluating the business opportunity. Having a business idea is great, but validating that there is a potential market for it is even better!





What is the MVT Series?

The MVT Series or Market Validation Training Series is an educational course offered by Kamloops Innovation as the precursor to our VAP program. This series is Free and open to any individual, company or student who is looking to start their own business.

The series is designed to guide and coach early-stage companies through defining business models for sustained growth. Kamloops Innovation does not take equity stakes in companies, making companies free to grow on their own terms. For those individuals looking to attend specific classes, the Startup Basics Series offers more bite-sized versions of the material taught in the MVT Series through the TRU Generator.

  • Business Model Canvas: Visualize your company's value, infrastructure, customers, and finances.
