Mythology of the Planets: The Gods and Goddesses of the Night Sky
Event Information
About this Event
The journey began a long long time ago. No one knows exactly how long ago. Our ancient ancestors didn't have Netflix, TV, radio or social media to entertain themselves. Instead, they would look to the night sky and use their...imagination.
And that is how these myths were born. The ancient ones would look at the patterns in the sky and tell stories by the hearth fire. To them, each and every one of us is related to these stars that shine a million light years away. They believed that we--and the planets of the night sky--are intertwined in a shared destiny.
Perhaps they--the planets--are not simply astronomical bodies orbiting a star. To the ancient ones, the planets were a family--much like our own families on planet earth.
As above, so below.
And that is where the story begins.
Join us, on an adventure, as we sit by the campfire and remember the stars.
