He has written and distributed many hundreds of media releases, some of which have been read by assignment editors and a few that have even become the basis of news items. He will share advice and thoughts about how he does media relations, how he does not to media relations, and hopefully give you a few good ideas to think about.

Shawna Randolph, co-host of Alberta Primetime and founder of Shawna Randolph Communications

Co-host of CTV-2's Alberta Primetime and recipient of Edmonton's Women of the Year Award, Shawna is a well-know Edmonton communication specialist with over 27 years of experience.

Jacqueline Janelle, Director Membership with IABC and Communications Director at Covenant Health Canada

Jacqueline has seen media relations from both sides of the fence. She is currently Communications Director with Covenant Health, which operates 12 health care facilities across Alberta. Prior to moving into communications, Jacqueline worked with CBC for nearly a decade. She has handled the good, the bad and the ugly of media relations and looks forward to answering your questions and sharing some of the lessons she’s learned.
