PROGRAM INFO SESSIONS

Animal Health Technology/ Veterinary Medical Assistant – Come join the NAIT Animal Health Technology and Veterinary Medical Assistant programs and gain some hands-on experience in microscopic laboratory work, large animal assessment, and prepare supplies for sterilization.

Combined Lab and X-ray – X-ray this and analyze that in rural Alberta! Come and experience what makes the CLXT program unique and try out your lab and x-ray skills.

Dental Assisting Technology – Are you interested in a career in the dental field? Are you eager to join a dynamic team and work in close proximity with patients performing various skills and tasks? If so, come try our hands on activities in our dental clinic and get a small taste of the dental assisting profession!

Dental Technology – Do you want to build smiles one tooth at a time? The Dental Technology diploma introduces you to hands on training which enables graduates to fabricate a wide variety of dental corrective devices and replacements for natural teeth and tissues. In this session you will participate in the fabrication of a tooth replacement appliance. Get your artistic eyes open and your hands ready to build smiles.

Denturist Technology – Curious what shade of white your teeth are? Wondering how a Denturist uses artificial teeth to create a unique smile? In this session you will determine your own tooth shade and learn how to set artificial teeth!

Diagnostic Medical Sonography – Sound waves are for more than just for hearing. With the power of ultrasound they can be used to see inside the human body. Join the Diagnostic Medical Sonography team as we take you on a hands-on tour of some of the exciting exams we perform. Using a combination of real models and our advanced simulation technology, you will experience arteries pulsing, hearts contracting and see different stages of fetal development.

Emergency Medical Technician (PCP) and Emergency Medical Technologist – Paramedic (ACP) – Come join the NAIT Paramedic programs and experience first-hand what it takes to save lives. Our highly intense hands on activities will give you a glimpse into the world of emergency medicine. Come and find out if you have what it takes to be a paramedic!

Magnetic Resonance Imaging – Come and experience an MRI through the eyes of a technologist.

Medical Laboratory Assisting – Come to NAIT’s Medical Laboratory Assisting Program Preview to find out if this high-demand profession is for you by experiencing required skills such as pipetting, blood collection, patient interaction, attention to detail, microscope work, and much more. There will be a presentation on the profession followed by an interactive simulated laboratory experience. All attendees must be wearing closed-toe, closed-heel shoes to participate in the interactive session.

Medical Laboratory Technology – Do you know your blood group? Come and experience hands-on activities and learn more about the Medical Lab Technology profession.

Medical Radiologic Technology – Have you ever wanted to have X-ray vision? Come spend an hour with MRT! Medical Radiologic Technology is the art and science of correctly positioning the patient and x-ray equipment to produce and record images for the purpose of visualizing the extent of disease or injury.

Medical Transcription – Is your medical documentation safe? Let’s spend some time learning about medical terms, the human body and how to decipher the information.

Personal Fitness Trainer – Students will have the opportunity to learn about physical fitness testing and proper movement mechanics.

Respiratory Therapy – Come be a participant on our healthcare team with Respiratory Therapy students, doctors and nurses as you care for patients with complex cardiopulmonary disorders in a simulated hospital and homecare setting. You’ll have a chance to use technology, assessment skills and good communication to ensure your patient receives safe therapeutic interventions.
