This is a chance to celebrate the long weekend together with delegates from all over the Country in attendance. This event will celebrate incredible black artists from all over the world including UK emerging star AMA LOU. Opening will be an absolute star in the Canadian R&B world...Divine Brown...Surrounded by an All Star band of locals including Mahalia Smith! Bring family and friends for a beautiful night of music and culture!
Ama Lou is an artist who makes music of the R&B and Soul genre. Although she is of a young age, she has been recognized by artists such as Drake himself. She is a powerful voice of the youth and a special performer. Press and music tastemakers have upheld her debut single ‘TBC’ with ID stating, “A beautifully shot short, the video and track both references Eric Garner’s horrific final words, ‘I can’t breathe’, while alluding to, the Black Lives Matter movement and annihilation of Black and Brown America in the early 20th century.”
Divine Brown - Toronto/Jamaica - Canadian Juno Award-winning R&B and soul singer and theatre performer. Brown is known for her 2005 Canadian radio hit "Old Skool Love".[1] The single and video whet the appetites of U.S. Soul music fans, and a Reggae remix version secured the attention of Riddim junkies in Jamaica fueling Divine to reach for something more. The single earned Brown a SOCAN No. 1 Song Award.

National Black Canadians Summit - To ensure that the stories of Black Canadians are told, we must be the ones to hold the pen — starting with the history of Black Nova Scotians, a largely untold story that highlights how our community’s many contributions and innovations have gone unrecognized. Through our stories, we will ensure that future generations of Black Canadians know and take pride in their history and their identity. Black history is Canadian history.
