About this event

The COVID-19 pandemic has disproportionately impacted marginalized communities, especially those living with disabilities. Public health restrictions and lack of community resources are key contributors to heightened challenges for those living with disabilities

As we recover from the pandemic, we must leverage the lessons learned from the pandemic to ensure that no one is left behind and has an opportunity to thrive.

On June 1st wear your red shirt in support of people living with a disability and join us from 2:00 - 3:30 pm for our event: Recover, Rethink & Thrive as we commemorate National AccessAbility Week.

Our speaker Justine Fedak will share what it means to return to a ‘new normal’ and her continuous journey of integrating disability with recognizing and owning one’s immense ability.

Keynote Speaker: Justine Fedak

Justine Fedak is the Chief Marketing & Culture Officer at BIÂN, a private members club built on the foundation of holistic wellness, vitality, and social well-being. After more than two decades, she left her beloved executive job at BMO Financial Group to pursue her life as a self-declared corporate hippie. After being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2001, Justine became an advocate for healthy living and is a dedicated meditator. Justine focuses on helping individuals and companies build their Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) mindset. She earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Toronto and an MBA from Dalhousie University. Years later, she was honoured as the youngest recipient of the Dalhousie University’s 2015 Lifetime Achievement. She was also recently the Eversight “Woman of Vision” of 2021.
