About this event

Kim, of Aurora Light Sculptures will be your guide for an enlightening day of creative washi lamp making. Using washi, a cedar base, and supplied framing material, you will complete one 5.5 x 5.5 x 12" free-standing lamp.

The washi, a cedar base, and all the necessary electrical components will be provided. Before the start of the workshop, we encourage you to enjoy the great outdoors and forage for natural embellishments. You will employ the leaves, twigs, feathers, etc, that you collect to enhance your one-of-a-kind lamp.

Most materials will be supplied, but we do ask you to bring a few tools from home, as follows:

  • Roberts (square) screwdriver (#2 size)
  • Snips or garden shears
  • Glue gun and glue sticks (clear, dollar-store-quality glue is fine)
  • Hair dryer
  • Note book and pen for taking notes
  • an apron or art-making clothing

About the organizer
