Needs Assessment for Adult Learners and Resources for Improving Pathways Planning

The goal of needs assessment is to determine the needs of the clients first, and then refer them to the appropriate programs. In this workshop you will enhance your knowledge of the Needs Assessment and Referral Process for Adult Learners. This session covers: referrals to training, education and employment- focused programs.

OKlearn.ca was designed to help navigate you and your clients through the various pathways to education and work. This workshop will describe the OKLearn.ca website, provide you with a summary of the useful tools it contains and walk you through use of those tools.

Workshop 2: Jan 26, 10:00 - 11:30 AM

Accessing Post-Secondary Education in Ontario and Resources for Navigating Education in Toronto

Service providers assisting newcomers will receive a brief overview of accessing post-secondary education: admission requirements, application processes, student services, and financial sources. English language proficiency requirements and foreign credential evaluations will also be delivered. Upon completion, participants will have the understanding to provide educational support to their clients with greater confidence.

Welcome2School.ca was developed to support frontline staff to connect newcomer families to program and resources to help them understand the education system in Toronto and make informed decisions about their learning. This workshop will introduce you to the resources on the website that will help your clients reach their education goals.
